iconGuidelines of our Recreational Program

 

Free Trial Class

Anyone not currently enrolled at The Pride of Texas may participate in a free trial class. There is no obligation with a free trial and it will give you and your athlete a chance to see our facility, meet our instructors, and how a class operates. By taking a free trial class, your athlete’s spot  in that class is reserved, so we recommend that you choose a class with days and times that are convenient for your schedule, should you decide for your athlete to continue with the class.  Please contact the front desk to schedule a free trial class.

 

No Long Term Obligation

Our class program runs on a month-to-month basis. A 30 (thirty) day cancellation of membership is required and must be in writing and submitted to the attention of Deborah Waugh, Finance Administrator, The Pride of Texas, 1763 Upland, Houston, Texas 77043. . Your registration fee is good for a full year, so if you would like to come back, all you need to do is give us a call and select a class. Athletes that drop a class without giving written notice will continue to be responsible for monthly tuition.

 

Make-Up Classes and Class Changes

Make-ups must be completed while the athlete is still actively enrolled in a class.  If, at anytime, you need to change your current class, please contact the front desk so that we may assist you in finding the appropriate day and time.

 

Registration and Tuition

There is a $50 registration fee that is good for one year.  Classes are $65/month, additional classes are $50/month.  Tuition will be pro-rated for athletes that sign up for a class in the middle of the month.  Tuition and registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable between athletes.  All payments are due on the 1st of the month.  Payments received after the 5th of the month will be charged a $25 late fee.  Any payments resulting in a NSF (non-sufficient funds), declined credit card, returned check, etc. will be charged a $35 service charge.

Level 1 Tumbling
Requirements- None
Class Objective- Increase flexibility, upper body strength, and overall coordination to prepare for Level 2 tumbling.
Focus- Forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, backbends, back walkovers

Level 1A Tumbling
Requirements- Solid Round-off required
Class Objective- Reinforcing Level 1 objectives while perfecting the back handspring and developing confidence in prepations for Level 2.
Focus- Back handspring, round-off back handspring

Level 2
Requirements- Solid round-off back handspring
Class Objective- Perfecting proper rteachnique for tumbling and more advanced tumbling skills
Focus- Strong round-off back handpsring series.

Level 3 & 4
Requirements- Solid Round-off series of back handsprings
Class Objective- Perfecting proper technique for tumbling, incorportating "set drills" to condition back tucks.
Focus- Back tuck, layout, full


All of these classes are available in YOUTH for ages 4-8. If The Pride of Texas feels a certain athlete should advance to the normal Level 1 or 2 classes even though they are still within the age range to stay in Youth, it is the parents decision to advance their athlete or not. Youth classes will incorporate more trampoline time, and technique and will move at a fun, but slow pace.

PRICES: All athletes are required to pay a $50 Annual Registration Fee to train. Training at the Pride of Texas is $50.00 monthly per athlete. The Pride of Texas prefers if the school district or Sponsor sends in ony check for the full teams amount, rather then 20 separate checks.

iconPrivate Lessons

Private lessons are a great way for students to get the one-on-one attention they need to learn the skills they want to master. Instructors are available to work with students from the very Beginner level to the most Advancedlevel0 in all areas of cheerleading tumbling, jumps, stunts, dance, and motions

EFFECTIVE MAY 1ST. Private lessons are set up by contacting the front desk. Every instructor has a Private Lesson Book with the times when they are available for lessons, (With the exception of Dana Biggers, please contact her directly). Private lessons must be paid for in advance, and require 24 hour notice if cancelling. Any cancellations within 24 hours will not be rescheduled or refunded. There is a $5.00 gym fee made payable to The Pride of Texas or "PTX" in the amount of $5.00 for every lesson. This can be paid in cash or check, NOT BY CREDIT CARD.

Individuals interested in taking private lessons must pay the $50 yearly Registration Fee and have a signed Relesase Form on file. Lessons are priced as follows:


Dana Biggers- Does require $5.00 gym fee

$40.00 for all athetes for 30 minutes


Christian J. Muniz- Does require $5.00 gym fee for the entire month up front, payable to The Pride of Texas or "PTX"

PTX all-star members- $30.00- 1/2 hour

PTX tumbling member- $35.00- 1/2 hour

NON- PTX all-star members- $40.00- 1/2 hour

 

Joshua Johnson- Does require $5.00 gym fee for the entire month up front, payable to The Pride of Texas or "PTX"
